So I made this somewhat random homework for the first week of classes. I created the homework for a bunch of reasons
1) I wanted students to look over the syllabus
2) I wanted to sort of get to know the students in some way even if it is in silly little comments
3) To answer the questions, you had to do "research"
You had to search and read and think. You had to follow a thread and sort through information. That is what research can be like. I really think research is a lot like a treasure hunt. You have to follow clues and sometimes they lead nowhere. Sometimes they only lead to another clue. You may have to ask for directions.
I am looking forward to reading the homeworks but first I have to figure out how to make the first lecture at least interesting.
